  1. I would like to have a new Stop Loss option where you can select a particular SMA, EMA, or WMA. When the Stock Price falls below that moving average, then you exit that position.
This should be a pretty easy implementation and would help a lot.

  4. Currently, if you add cash to a portfolio, VectorVest calculates the addition as if your portfolio gained that much through trading, and if you withdraw money from a portfolio, VectorVest calculates that as a loss. Depositing and withdrawing money to or from a trading account are activities that investors do on a regular basis. Such transactions should not affect the G/L%.
The workaround for this calculating error is to modify the opening deposit. Modifying the opening deposit does reduce the effect of this miscalculation, but it also slightly reduces the G/L percentages since the gains and losses will be calculated…

  6. There is currently no way to backup portfolios. After accidentally erasing my "live" portfolio with a back test, I was surprised to learn there is no way to make a portfolio backup! I was told by VV tech support that VV 7 does not include backup/restore functions.

  8. A point trail looks at the current profit, for example you bought xyz at 40, it is now trading at 42, you have a 2 point profit, and you have a .75 point trail, which means if the stock dropped to 41.25 it would trigger your exit with a 1.25 profit.

  10. Be able to draw trend lines, price levels, etc on portfolios charts and have the drawings save with the portfolios, reday to view next time the portfolio is opened. Toda one must print the chart and draw on the prited copy to determine trend violations and breakouts.

  12. To manually entering dividend payments in a portfolio one is required to shut off the Genius. However when the Genius is again activated the stop criteria changes to 'None' on the table. After reactivating the Genius the stop criteria should be preserved and not have to be manually reset. (This applies to 'end of day' or once per day mode)

  13. It would be great if there was a way you could export your portfolios and import them into another VectorVest user's account.

For example, my friend and I both use RealTime, and would like to share our portfolio ideas. However, it would be a little time consuming to have to re-enter all the parameters by hand. It would be great if I could export the portfolio from my RealTime and allow him to import it into his.

  20. For any stock in portfolio, where a trailing stop is set it should be possible to graph the progress of the stop along with the price of the stock. It should also be able to show the value for the trailing stop on a daily basis.
