  2. There are currently comment fields for subdirectories in Watchlists, where you describe how the group of stocks were selected.
But there needs to be a comment field for EACH stock - this would explain Why selected, your exit point, your completed analysis (eg Midas, DEW), and other items from your trading plan.
This way, when a stock is successful, you can look back at how and why it was selected, and LEARN from it.
It would save having to keep manual paper records.

  5. I would like to write a real stock screen, many require that you can compare annualized or past quarterly returns over periods of time and filter by those compared to S&P500, DJX, etc...

    Example:
Filter 1: show me 3 Year annualized Return over S&P 500
    AND
Filter 2: show me stocks which have 5 years annualized return over S&P 500
    AND
Filter 3: show me stocks which have 10 years annualized return over S&P500
    AND
    ETC...

  6. Can VV create the formula described below on a VV graph?
(from Money Morning ad) as this looks like something VV should offer their subscribers

The secret behind the X all comes down to a formula...
    Here it is.
You take the number of periods for the stock, you subtract the number of periods since that stock hit its highest high – you then divide that by the number of periods again.
And finally, you multiply that answer by 100.

That's simply the adjustable window of time the formula uses to determine the strength of both momentum and gravity.

    So…

  7. The Thomson Reuters/Future Super Australia Fossil Free Index and the Thomson Reuters/Future Super Australia Sustainable Leaders Index have been designed to give investors improved transparency around ASX-listed companies’ sustainability credentials. These would be a good addition to Vector Vest. Ideally as a figure in a column or a search filter so that high/low scores can be evaluated as a fundamental indicator.

  8. Portfolio Record is very important for stocks and entering manually is not user friendly in Vector Vest compared to most other competitive software I use.
1 Does not allow for 1/2% duty we pay in UK for buying transaction only.
2 Does not allow for entering Gross cost and no. of stocks only and allowing V V to work out cost per share whilst entering the transactions. It will simplify and increase the speed..
3 A particular stock may have 5 transactions over a period of time. It is useful to see Transaction log only for that particular stock to…

  11. I would like to be able to create a custom field which can compare the RT of a particular equity to the RT of an index (e.g SPX). It would also be nice to be able to use this calcualted variable in the portfolio section for stop loss/gain purposes.

  14. The present "x" on the exchange code does not differentiate between stocks that have "real" options and those whose options are useless. Stocks having weekly options are almost always liquid and have good open interest and high volume. I always prefer to do weekly covered calls.

  16. Let's specify a PINK SHEET stock due to the implied volatility that may take place on the stock. Today NHTC dropped almost 50% in a thirty minute period with NO news events listed. Labeling a stock as a "pink sheet" stock means buyer beware....

  18. Being able to use Williams %R as a parameter in searches can allow you to find stocks that have just broken out and are probably safe to buy. You can also use Williams %R to know when to sell a declining stock. You can use the standard field of 14 ( Wm %R(14) ) but allow the user to modify that number.

  19. the % of shares held by large investors such as pension funds, mutual funds, etc can be important in stock movement. consider adding this info as a field in portfolios , watchlists, searches, etc. and/r in the search criteria.
