For a paper traded portfolio to reflect reality, it must include dividends. Dividends are easily missed, require time for research for pay date, and are time consuming to add to a paper portfolio. You show what dividends/share are expected but do not update portfolios by applying the known actual dividends paid (and pay date) multiplied by the shares of stock in the portfolio to update the cash in the portfolio. Without this feature, only a small number of dividend stocks can be accurately tracked. Related, you generate sell signals improperly when a stock pays a big dividend or special dividend (the stock drops by close to the same amount in price) even though this is a positive not a negative event. Recommendation: 1) add feature to automatically add all actual cash or stock dividends to paper portfolios, or by manual trigger to some or all stocks in an entire portfolio. 2) Adjust sell recommendation for cash dividends by date declared, or at least show on graph size of dividend so we do not trade a sell generated by a large dividend.
