Thanks for your candid feedback, we truly appreciate you taking the time to share your impressions, even if the beta hasn’t met your expectations so far.
To start, the first tier of the web app is designed specifically for users who are new to the VectorVest system , not necessarily to investing in general. Our goal is to introduce the core principles of how we guide decisions, when to buy, what to buy, and when to sell, through a simpler layout and focused toolset. It’s intentionally more streamlined than what you’re used to in VV7, and we understand that for long-time subscribers, that can feel like a step down.
Your point about the Market Timing message is well taken. We know it can feel conflicting when the system says “Safe to Buy” while also noting the market is looking toppy. In the past, VectorVest 7 timing indicators would point to a safe to buy situation but users would have to know (and remember) what levels of indicators like the MTI suggest that the market is looking for a top, based on past performance. We’ve made efforts to surface those signs more directly in the new app. That nuance is exactly what the Noteworthy Conditions are meant to communicate, when timing indicators are technically in a favorable state, but there are signs that warrant extra caution. We’re continuing to refine how we present that balance to avoid confusion and better support both decision-making and education.
As for the VVC, you’re right that it sometimes shows different behavior than the major indexes. The VVC includes thousands of stocks across all sectors and sizes, not just large-cap stocks like the S&P 500 or Dow, so its average price and performance often reflect a broader market trend. It’s one of the reasons we believe it’s such a valuable barometer, though we agree this can be confusing without the right context—and we’re working to clarify that better in-app.
We really do appreciate you giving the beta a try, and we hope you’ll continue to share your thoughts as we move forward. Many of the tools and depth you rely on in VV7 are planned for future tiers of the web app, and feedback like yours helps us prioritize what comes next.
