An error occurred while saving the comment Jim Crowell commentedThis information is readily available at your broker, which makes it fairly easy to implement here on VV. This would be in Unisearch tool as a field. It could be as simple as a range: (50-70% of float owned by an institution). There are good reasons to seek this information in search.

An error occurred while saving the comment Jim Crowell commentedA picky point, but 50% is not a Fib level (though retracement tools often enter that level). Next point, not so picky, is how to determine which low and high are to be used for this search. Periodicity is important as well (can it be used intraday, Daily, Weekly?). Other than those two comments, I think it's a good idea as well.

I agree with Kent Bryan (April 19, 2014) when he says adding short interest is an obvious piece of information before you short a stock. Percent Short interest and Days to Cover would be GREAT pieces of information to use in Unisearch, for instance. This information is readily available. You really do not want to short a stock that's at 7 Days to Cover or more. Also, the possibility of a short squeeze increases, when Days to Cover is high - a piece of information useful before you take a position long. Maybe you'd have to put up a seminar on how to use this, but it would definitely be worth it!
