In the new update to VectorVest 7, Custom Moving Averages can be created in the Custom Field Builder and used in Unisearch searches. A Custom Moving Average can be added to any custom field.

Last Friday’s Strategy of the Week describes how to setup a Custom Moving Average and use it in a search.

The update is currently being rolled out, but it can be downloaded now from: http://www.vectorvest.com/install/vectorvest7

Custom Moving Averages are available to all customers with ProTrader. If you don’t have ProTrader call us for a free trial!

  2. Since the Kicker for the GLB worked so well, why not allow users using Unisearch to search for stocks whose 10 day MA of RT is over its 15 day MA of RT or any moving average we want.

Last Friday’s Strategy of the Week gives a great overview of how to use Custom Moving Averages in Unisearch searches.

The update is currently being rolled out, but can also be downloaded from http://www.vectorvest.com/install/vectorvest7

  6. Just like VV6, please allow the option to have all results to be shown not just the 100. One way I use VV6 is to return all trade-able stocks, i.e with 100K average volume , not ETFs or indexes, and not pink-slip or bulletin board stocks. I then put them in a watch-list and track this watch-list's average price, BSR, etc. This gives a more realistic view of the market. I can't seem to do that with VV7 now

This feature is now available in VectorVest 7.

The “Display Top” button at the top of both Viewers and Unisearch contains an ALL selection that will return all results.

  7. If you have Protrader and the end of day software. Allow the use of DPO in the unisearch tool to check for improving stocks or ones that have just gone positive per DPO.

  8. Please add a 150 day moving average to the crossover options in search field for moving ave crossovers

    currently you only offer 50 & 100 & 200 day options.

Please add the 150 to that field. It will be a huge help

    Thank you!

The latest update to VectorVest 7 allows searching on any Moving Average Custom Field.

Using Custom Fields you can easily create a 150 day Moving Average Crossover search.

  9. Is there a list that shows all buy rec. initiated that day? If not that would be good to have.

  10. The Real TIME search will not list the stocks in an ascending order when sorted by VSR*GPE/RT Asc!! There are zero values interspersed throughout the list given. I keep being told that I cannot resort by a "computed value". I don't ask to resort.... but to have the stocks arranged the way they are supposed to be in the first place!

Both MACD and DPO Crossovers are now available in VectorVest 7 with ProTrader.

They can be accessed by adding the Price (Split Adjusted) Parameter to a Search. Look in the ProTrader section in the Operators list.

VectorVest 7 is a free upgrade, if you don’t have it yet, you can upgrade here:

Support / Resistance are searchable in Unisearch with the ProTrader add-on.

To access Support / Resistance in searches, add Stock Price as the Parameter, and choose Support / Resistance in the ProTrader group under Operator.

To get ProTrader, call our Customer Support for a trial.

To filter your search by a list of stocks, under Parameter, choose Stocks – Filter By – Watchlist. You can create your own watchlists in the Watchlist tab with any stocks you want in a group, or choose one of our built-in watchlists.

This will limit the search to run only on these basket of stocks.

Stochastic Oscillator Crossovers have been added as a part of VectorVest 7 with ProTrader.

To use a Stochastic Oscillator Crossover, add the Price (Split Adjusted) Parameter to a search. Stochastic Oscillator Crossover will show under ProTrader in the list of available Operators.
