Custom Moving Averages are now available in VectorVest 7 for all ProTrader users.

The update is currently being rolled out, but can also be downloaded from http://www.vectorvest.com/install/vectorvest7

    Would really appreciate a comment from someone at VV on this issue. Adding this functionality to Unisearch and the Portfolio Manager would truly make VV a system developer's tool extraordinaire. Their recent demonstration of the RTCombo's is but one example of the power that could be unlocked, but even that requires a manual monitoring of the RT crossovers. Is it the potential demand on the servers that is limiting this development...? Thanks for any comments on this possibility in the future.

    There is a very rudimentary RT Crossover search under Trends (Crossovers) but it's limited because a particular value of RT (RT=1 in the strategy) must be specified. On the other hand, I want any RT if it crosses above its MA (you pick the MA). Then if you sort by RV/RT you can find stocks exploding off a bottom. For instance, you may find a stock with an RT = 0.52 exploding up; this is what bottom fishing is all about.
    Here is another example: On 11/19/2012 Home Depot's (HD) RT crossed above its 15MA. I made a huge amount of $$ on this move (I bought Calls). But the RT went from 1.21 to 1.24. You cannot find this with the Trends (Crossover) in VV7. However, you can find it in VV6. I want to see VV7 have the same functionality as VV6 regarding RT Crossovers.

    Couldn't agree with you more. In fact, I don't understand why moving averages can't be added to ALL of the Vector Vest indicators. For instance, I'd also like to be able to add SMA's to a couple of the Market Climate indicators in the Graphs tab...

    The RT crossing above its 15 Moving Average is the best search in VectorVest 6 ProTrader! It is not available in VectorVest 7. I have made $1000s using this search! Can't we get some users to Vote for this to be included in VectorVest Real Time Unisearch? You guys are missing the boat on this valuable tool! It can make you rich.
