Closed Ended Investment Trusts and Funds - Add NAV or Premium / Discount to NAV
For Closed Ended Investment Trusts of Funds an important parameter to understand before making an investment is the Discount / Premium to Net Asset Value (NAV). Buying at too high a Premium to NAV is considered a Risk. At present Vectorvest attempts to give us a "RV" score for an Investmnet Trust / Fund looking out 3 years into the future - for a collective investment with an active manager who Vectorvest has no knowledge of their future decisions. This is misleading at best. At other times Vectorvest treats a Trust or Fund in the same way as an ETF (i.e. RV=1), which is also misleading at best. That is, the a two approaches that Vectorvest currently takes are misleading at best, and also inconsistent. This needs to be sorted out as it is a poor situation that has been allowed to continue for too long.
