Any news on the upgrade yet? i did re-up as a loyal user this month, not real happy with the lack of progress though or the lazy response to your client inquiries...that sort of thing would kill our business'...probably not helpful to yours...just an observation.

Great news! I am currently using Etrade and they have their Power ETrade Pro program for stock analysis which you pay for monthly like VV, different methodology I know, but that a side, they have versions of this software for both Windows and Mac, in addition to an iPad/iPhone app. Do you have any plans to make a Mac version of your software for Mac Computers?

how about us Linux users - Firefox would work on Windows and Linux, not sure about Mac

PS. Windows 7 was Apples idea.

VV we are still waiting...for a proper version for mac. Any word yet? Or has Obama spent your R&D budget. Perhaps a field trip to a few of your local universities will help you be in touch with your future clientele. These are not a fad...a reliable system that never crashes, fast, multi-tasking...express blows and you know it...great port in a storm, but it does not come close to the full version. Surely your taking action? Aren't you?

For me a full blown MAC application is a lot more important than an I phone application. Vector Vest subscribers who are MAC users have been patiently waiting for this application for a long time and nothing appears to be happening on this front. How long are you going to make us use a computer system we really do not appreciate and find inconvenient to use.

Not very appealing to have to dig out the old laptop to install the software on and just use the express version on the far superior Mac.

Paul - I can appreciate the scope of the effort in relation to the size of your firm however I believe your post which alleges porting VectorVest would 'force us to make compromises which we are unwilling to make at this time" lacks transparency. There are a variety of Open Source database products which would replace the functionality currently supported by MS Access. Keep in mind this is a 'consumer' application and not a full blown trading platform. Platform independence can only lead to increased market adoption and subscriptions. I think you should revisit your decision and port VectorVest to the Mac OS. A stable, UNIX based OS.

I'm sending along a report about Apple and Microsoft that was released today. Apple is experiencing huge growth and it would be in VectorVest's best interest to get ahead of the curve. It's time to expend the resources to have a fully functioning Mac version of VectorVest.

Seattle — Apple Inc. shot past Microsoft Corp. as the world’s biggest tech company based on market value Wednesday, the latest milestone in the resurgence of the maker of the iPhone, which nearly went out of business in the 1990s.
Apple’s shares rose as much 2.8 per cent on Nasdaq Wednesday, as Microsoft shares floundered, briefly pushing its market value above $229-billion (U.S.), ahead of its long-time rival.
Both stocks ended down after a late-day selloff, but Apple emerged ahead with a market value of about $222-billion, compared with Microsoft’s $219-billion, according to Reuters data.
Apple shares closed down 0.4 per cent at $244.11 on Nasdaq, while Microsoft fell 4 per cent to a seven-month low of $25.01.
Shares of Apple are worth more than 10 times what they were 10 years ago, as it has profited from revolutionizing consumer electronics with its stylish, easy to use products such as the iPod, iPhone and MacBook laptops.
The last time Apple had a higher market value than Microsoft was Dec. 19, 1989, according to Thomson Reuters Datastream.
Microsoft, whose operating system runs on more than 90 per cent of the world’s personal computers, has not been able to match growth rates from its heyday 1990s. Its stock is down 20 per cent from 10 years ago.

Ted I appreciate your fervor, but I think it's a bit early to call Microsoft users a dying generation. Although Mac is definitely making gains, Microsoft continues to own over 90% of the market: http://www.netmarketshare.com/os-market-share.aspx?qprid=9 This being said, we don’t plan to leave Mac users out in the cold. As I mentioned in my earlier post, we plan to create a iPhone / iPad application in the coming months. As time goes on, we expect to bring the majority of the VectorVest 7 features into the iPad version of this application. Although that doesn’t help on the Macintosh itself, if you haven’t bought an iPad yet, I’d suggest checking it out. It’s a great product. Also, we have longer term plans of a major upgrade to our Express platform.

Paul, you know I appreciate your alliance to Microsoft and related products but in doing so have limited your upside to a dying generation. I strongly urge you to reconsider, surely cost is not a problem for successful investors liker your selves. Perhaps you guys in IT are not reading Vectorvest views yourselves. Time are rapidly changing and your Express version does not cut it. Td and other sources have created great options for their services. I don't think I or others will be able to renew if your product doesn't fully function/work with our preferred equipment choices. The only compromise is VV inability to properly tackle the issue. You should have re-alocated resources some time ago as well as professionals with the skill set you need to accomplish this. Being on the sidelines for too long...and who knows, some kid may develop and "Ap" for this...

We are working on an iPhone / iPad application which is expected to be released in the next 3 months. The initial version will show current market timing information, the VectorVest Views, and allow you to see the VectorVest ratings on any stock.

I understand that there is a solution to run VV on a Mac (I use parallels). But VV Express isn't functional on the iPad. Having made my money in eCommerce, I understand "significant" development resources, as Paul McCann stated. However, the winds of change are blowing, isn't it time to develop an App for that? Or at least make VV Express fully iPad / iPhone compatible? Charge me for it. I would pay..

As an AT&T employee who oversee's the IPAD roll-out and the roll-out is going gang busters with more sells than the IPHONE VV is missing the boat on not offering a Safari based online version. Hope they are working on one now rather than later.

I've been a mac user for 10 years and the express version works really well for me. I try not to touch the pc whenever least possible. Real Time is reeeeaaallly nice as well!

With the tech world going mobile and now the iPad, the Microsoft OS is becoming less relevant every day. Thinkorswim has a Mac version and WOW! I think you have to get out in front on this new technology

Although I am still on the VV trial, I like it very much and would like to extend to the full year package. However, my PC sucks. Window is a dog. I planning on buying an iMac today or tomorrow and will likely investigate another investment vehicle soon if VV doesn't develop a Mac version. Please help!
