I am creating my own "Derby" with the backtester by setting up a standard template with a specified testing period then testing a set of popular searches with that template.

I am assembling the results into an Excel spreadsheet where I can run these backtests periodically (daily, weekly?) to see which of the selection of popular searches are doing the best - like the "Derby" module only under my control and with my own history.

This is very tedious and time consuming, however. It would be easy to program into the backtester module a feature that would permit user to create a template and have the system test the designated searches and provide a report in a single line per search format. It may take a little time to run but user could start the process, take a break to eat dinner or something, then come back in a while and check the results.

Using the results, user can then run the preferred search and decide which stocks to trade next morning.
