To access VectorVest University from VectorVest 7, add the Training gadget to your VectorVest 7 homepage.

The Training gadget when clicked will take you to the VectorVest University.

To add the Training gadget, click the small Wrench button at the very top of the Home tab. This will drop down a list of all available gadgets. The training gadget is near the end of the list. Click on it to add it to your homepage.

  3. Bug, in Portfolios > Manage Portfolios> Edit Portfolios Automation> Long> Choose Stop Criteria> Prior Day's Stop Price. When you set this it seems to work, but when you go back to to check it , it returns to default. Other stop criteria does not work ether Trailing Average True Range Stop.

This is possible in VectorVest 7, Mitchell.

To see the earnings for S&P 500 on a graph, go to the Graphs tab and on the first button in the top toolbar, select Market Climate. One of the graphable parameters is Earnings for the S&P 500.

you have to do it manually, but you can now change the stop criteria at any given point in time during a backtest… in the holdings view, use the Edit Stops button.

  7. The % Change on the QuickList gadget is currently displayed as an integer. It should be displayed with at least one decimal precision. Currently if DJI is up .50 % it is displayed as 1%. This is misleading and inaccurate.

  8. Open a stock graph, and then open its Industry graph (from the stock graph); RT Ranking is not available as a Parameter. However, if go to Viewers > Industries, and then open a graph, RT Ranking is available. This problem should be fixed.

This feature exists in VectorVest 7. In any of the Stock Finder boxes, you can type either the symbol or the company name and it will filter down to the stock you are looking for.

  10. I've noticed in one of my portfolios that trades are happening after hours even though I have it configured to "NOT" check afterhours. The stop criteria for this portfolio is based on %G/L.

Support / Resistance are searchable in Unisearch with the ProTrader add-on.

To access Support / Resistance in searches, add Stock Price as the Parameter, and choose Support / Resistance in the ProTrader group under Operator.

To get ProTrader, call our Customer Support for a trial.

To filter your search by a list of stocks, under Parameter, choose Stocks – Filter By – Watchlist. You can create your own watchlists in the Watchlist tab with any stocks you want in a group, or choose one of our built-in watchlists.

This will limit the search to run only on these basket of stocks.

This feature exists in VectorVest 7 graphs.

In a graph, there is a button at the bottom left of the graph named Confirmed Calls. Toggle this button to turn the Confirmed Calls on/off on the graph. Click the arrow next to the button to view DEW or Primary Wave instead.

The Calls will show up as green/red triangles on the Price axis. Hover on the triangles to see how a highlighted view of how long the call lasted.

  17. Thanks for Market timing in the backtester. But, it should be available to simulator users without having to purchase Real Time. It is a function of the Simulator, which will eventually be integrated into VV7. So it would be great allow your simulator users access to it...please.
    Thanks

  18. It is very helpful to be able to look a graphs and clearly see where past trades were entered and exited. The note can contain all the vital information to evaluate how the decesion was made at the time, and at what price and time.

Graph notes exist in VectorVest 7. To add a Graph Note, click on the small arrow on the graph toolbar next to Freehand Line. The fifth item down is Note.

After selecting Note, you will be able to draw a Note anywhere on the graph. The note will save at the position you drew it for the security that you have graphed.

In VectorVest 7, any of the StockFinder textboxes will work with either the symbol or the company name. Simply start typing the name of the company you are interested in and the list under the textbox will filter to the matching symbols and companies.
