Report annualized return in the portfolios and the summary report.
I've always enjoyed viewing the annualized results from my investments, even though some may be for only a short time. To show this in the portfoloios would give me a better handle on the performance of my investments.

VectorVest has invested a lot in automating the portfolio with the Genius but they have missed the most essential point. Portfolios track the purchase history of stocks bought and sold at different times. The ONLY effective way to do that is with an evaluation of the stock's performance over a defined period of time. The simplest and most effective way to do that is to compute the ARR's of the many stocks in a portfolio and compare them. If it can be done in QuickTest, it can be done in the portfolio manager.

ARR is the ONLY metric that allows security by security profitably comparisons. Anyone who does not do this . . . well! MS Money had ARR and then discontinued the free MS Money portfolio tracker. Dr. please try to find a way to include ARR as a portfolio column. The ROI is worth very little without the TIME VALUE of the money invested. Traders may not care. Investors should care and most do use the ARR to see how they are doing. VV uses it in the quick test BUT it is not on the portfolio. If MS Money can do it so can a powerhouse like Vector Vest. Thanks. Jim Gustafson

Great idea. Dividends should also be taken into account along with weighted average return for a portfolio.

Having two stocks with ROIs of 10% sounds like they're equal. But having held one for 10 months and the other for 10 days shows they are very different. A column in each portfolio that shows the Annualized Rate of Return (ARR) would allow you to spot these differences quickly and act when necessary. I'd also like to see a total row where daily gain/loss, etc. were shown
