add at least the capability to VV 7 that VV6 has for custom fields then add Tech Analyze fields as fields in custom fields.

This is available in VVUS.

I would like to be able to create moving average on more fields. Specifically, I would like to be able to search for OBV crossing above the OBV MA(30) line.

David Payne commented
I need MA for any variable- not just for price.

Although MAs are available in ProTrader, they are pre-set on sequences I find not worthwhile for my purposes. Why can they not be selectable by user? I typically only use averages that are in Fibonacci progression because of the known ratio: 1-1.6. It has worked well for me over many years.

Also include moving average parameter in unisearch

This should be a standard for alerts on portfolio management. Would be best to set the moving average time period on the portfolio for 30,60,or 90 day average sending an alert if a stock falls above or below the range.

Just adding my vote - this is a surprising omission from the custom searches

I can see how continuously updating multiple, custom-built, moving averages in real time might create a data bottleneck so perhaps the custom moving averages can be created and when the Search button is clicked, VV7 can take a snapshot of the current data, briefly disconnect the data feed to process the moving average information on that snapshot then display the results in a "Snapshot" window with a time/date stamp.

'VV7 needs to have a feature to allow moving averages to be built with the custom field builder so these can be used in field of various layouts, ie portfolios, searches, etc. so user can see at a glance if the stock is above or below a xx moving average. as important as moving averages is to many traders, it is hard to believe that this has not been incorporated. with protrader, one can do this with graphs, but cannot put the info into column layouts

I would like the ability to use the additional moving averages of 45,60, 75, 90 and 100 to the existing simple and exponential moving averages in pro trader 6 and 7

Give the choice "is currently" to "cross" above or below.

I would especially like to be able to graph multiple moving averages on the same chart. This would allow that and more. Additionally, I would like to have more choices of moving average periods.

I would like to see more choices on the days in moving averages including EMA and WMA.

need to have ability to create fields in custom field builder using any mov. ave., and also have the ability to use math on these fields. thus, you could create a field of the 30 day MA called 30ma and another called 45MA (45 day), then another field called 30/45 . Thus if this field is > 1, the 30 is above the 50, if < 1 then 30 is below the 50. With more manipulation you can probably identify a crossover up or down. May take ability to create the ma value of a day or 2 past.

Would like a scan that signals when the 50 EMA crosses the 100 EMA. Currenlty, I can set the scan for 50 day EMA, but only 200 EMA is shown on the drop down menu within Protrader.

Would like to be able to establish when MAs are trending up or trending down. This approach has shown promise in other analysis and I would like to tie this in to my Vector Vest searches. When selecting MA in parameter field I need Trend to be available in operator field and for available options in value field to be like it would be if price was in parameter field and trend selected in operator field.

When I create a custom function I need to be able to apply moving averages to them.
