Thanks for the thoughtful suggestion!
You’re right to point out the difference between the “When to Buy” and “When to Sell” experiences. This is intentional, at least at this foundational tier, where we prioritize prudent guidance focused on using stop prices to manage downside risk. Our research shows that many newer VectorVest users are still building confidence with the system, and introducing more aggressive tactics like short selling too early can increase complexity and anxiety, which we aim to minimize at this stage.
That said, your suggestion aligns well with how we envision expanding guidance in higher tiers. As users grow in confidence and skill, we plan to introduce access to more advanced strategies, including shorting, contra ETFs, and other techniques suited for downturns. These will be driven by more assertive systems and backed by education to help users apply them effectively without being overwhelmed.
We’d love to learn more…

Hey Gil, thanks for the feedback. We put a breakdown of all of the columns in the Advanced Market Timing section behind the button above the table. The one labeled "How to Review Advanced Market Timing. What do these indicators mean?"
Was that button too hidden? Did you not think it would have the answers to your questions in there? We are trying to supply the answers to users' questions as they have them, without being too 'in your face' with the way we handle it, any feedback you could give about this would be great. Thanks!

Thanks Gil. The edit layout hanging is a bug, and is actively being worked on. In this simplified version, we intentionally limited the default columns to reduce visual complexity and help newer users focus on just a few key indicators at first. That meant making some tough choices, and “Value” didn’t make the initial cut—even though we know how central it is to VectorVest’s core philosophy. We’re actively revisiting which metrics appear by default, and input like yours helps prioritize those decisions.
