  2. Every year, I have to creatively create a new portfolio with my current holdings as "purchased" at the beginning of the year so that I may see how my YTD performance is going. It would be much better if I could maintain a single portfolio and just change the time period I am interested in - like YTD - and get the performance metrics, transaction reports, etc. for that time period. At a minimum, simply seeing the chart for my time period and performance from the open of the beginning of that time period based on my purchase history since…

  8. I would like to know if on your BackTester you can you add a percent gain on the "Gain Side" (which you already have, but with a trailing stop on "Loss Side".

I believe this can help the overall winning percentage and decrease the drawdown,

  9. I want to be able to calculate the RT MAs for a stock. I can then create a custom field to determine the crossover by stock without looking on a graph? How do I do that.

  10. I think it's a great idea to run backtests on an RT kicker combo strategy "S&P500 Stop Asc/Contra ETFs", and list this as a model portfolio and include it in the Daily Color Guard discussion. This is important since we are not allowed to short stocks in an IRA account, but are allowed to buy contra ETFs.

  11. The Green Light Buyer with RT kicker looks great for getting into the market. But the Confirmed Down always seems to give back more money than I'd like. How about doing the inverse of the GLB/RT to get out of the market? I'd love to be able to test a timing mechanism like a Red Light Seller with an RT kicker in the backtester.

  12. I use another technical charting tool that allows exporting to a CSV. Based solely on standard technical analysis, it would be nice to be able to bring a CSV file into a new profile and refine the list of potentials using Vector Vest filters

  13. The SOTW for 8-10-2012 "Improving the Green Light Buyer with an RT Kicker." introduces using VVC RT simple moving average crossover requirement to determine if a green light is valid to buy stocks.

This is akin to what I have been studying using VVC Price moving averages to tell when to use the C/Up signals and when to ignore them.

For example in down markets it seems to make great sense to ignore a C/Up when the VVC Price 160 day MA is trending down until it begins recovering.

Also it seems valid to wait until the VVC Price 45…

  14. When building searches in Unisearch, sometimes you want to create a search that uses search parameters found in other searches. Rather than having to copy those parameters into the new search it would be useful to be able to include that search as a parameter in the new search.

The Parameter would be "saved search"
The operator would be = or <>
The value would the name of the search

This would permit the ability to combine targeted searches. For example, you could create a search looking for growth stocks and a search looking for value stocks. Creating a search…

  15. As it stands now, you have to edit the option data (strike and expiration) once the Options Analyzer opens. I already entered it in Unisearch. Why can't the software use the data I already entered?

  17. Different watchlists and/or industries have different criterias that are needed. When printing you should be able to save more than one custom layout - would need a save button and a name per layout.

This would also be helpful when wanting to print to a csv file to export to excel, etc - rather than the current print to CSV when right clicking on the viewer - which can not nodify the columns to be printed - thus a custom layout that go to ways - to print or CSV.

  20. Let's say that we have a watch-list of 10 stocks, and we wish to display and
    examine their stock graphs.

In the OLD version of VectorVest, you can first select ALL 10 stocks, and then
right-click the mouse and click "View Stock Graph". All the 10 stock symbols
will then be shown in the "Symbols" window above the graph. From this you can
select ANY ONE of the 10 stock symbols at will to display its graph.

My question is: how do I accomplish the same in VectorVest 7?
