Backtest Graph - shown as it would have appeared on a given date, automatically.
When I run a search for backtesting purposes, it would be helpful if the graph would default to that specific date. Example - run a search for stocks on 1/3/07 - graph should appear as it would have on 1/3/07 not as of today's date.

Custom Market Timing
I would like the ability to create my own custom market timing system based on things such at BSR and MTI. The ability to use this custom market timing signal in a backtest would be fantastic.

Allow Backtester to 'Purchase' index 'stocks,' e.g. HUI, SPX....
We can use the index's (HUI, SPX....) in unisearch, and will get hits for specific dates that meet the criteria. When you go in to backtest using the exact same unisearch with an index, the index will never be 'purchased' in backtester. It would be nice to be able to backtest the index's using criteria setup in Unisearch.

Add “Prior Day’s High Price” as a Stop
In both the Backtester and Portfolio I can use “Prior Day’s Low Price” as a stop. This is great for when I purchase a stock LONG, but there is not an equivalent stop for when I Sell Short. Adding “Prior Day’s High Price” as a stop would enable me to use the same logic when I sell short.

More choices for STOPS in back test,
i would like it, if there were either more options to use in the automated program
whether they were defined or like unisearch or like custom field builder we could build a stop that we could then use in the automated backtest.2 votes -

Stop Loss Exit Strategy addition - Exit when search Criteria is no longer True
Currently there are different Stop/Exit Strategies. If I design my own search criteria via automation rules, it is basically a True/False result. It allows results that are true.
I would like a Stop Loss/Exit Strategy to exit the trade when that True/False on the Search Strategy is no longer True.2 votes -
Selling Mode in Back Tester
I would like the back tester to fill sell orders based on a percentage of volume.
For example if the volume for the day was 1 million shares and the test owns 4 million shares when a stop is met I would like it to only sell a reasonable amount based on volume. Even if it takes a few days.

time stop
A time-stop is the point in time when you will sell the stock if it does not rise or decline as expected. Adding a time stop as a secondary stop criteria (along with existing stops such as Gain/Loss, ProfitLocker, etc.) would be beneficial in developing trading systems. Check out http://www.stockdisciplines.com/time-stops for more information on time stops.

Bug with historical watchlists in back tester
When conducting back tests on searches that use historical watchlists like W-O-W, S&P 500, NASDAQ 100, the back test pulls from the current date watchlist rather than the stocks that show up in the search from the historical date.
The right stocks show up if you go back to a historical date (eg 1/5/2010) and view the watchlist with the Viewers Tab or run a unisearch on that historical date. But then when you run the back test, you can see when looking in the trade history or transaction summary, the back test not pulling stocks that should have been…

Can you add a purchasing window to the Backtester?
Adding a purchasing window to the backtester the same as it shows in Portfolio Setup would allow more accurate backtesting of our strategy.
