  3. It would be quite helpful to be able to compare My Portfolio performance to that of the Trading System Viewer. To do that simply present My Portfolio performance in the same way as is done in TSV (1 mo., 3-mo, 1-year, ytd, etc.). Maybe you couldn't easily come up with a category title (prudent, conservative, etc.), but that would not be too critical. For those of us trying to create our own trading systems this feature would be very useful.

  4. The description of the portfolio in the portfolio tab cannot be edited when it is created from "trading systems" in the viewers tab. After creating the description there, and then transferring it to a portfolio, one cannot then edit the description later. However, if the same trading system is created from the "new portfolio" in the portfolio tab and choosing the same system by choosing "an existing trading system", then the description can be edited. It seems that editing should be available regardless of which way the system is placed into the portfolio because the description should be able to…

  5. When opening transaction log edit in Reports, one can only add 2 decimals. Ally often sells with 4 decimals. Stock sold at 42.3862. The only way to modify so it agrees with Broker is by changing the commission. This give erroneous commission total in Summary Page. This really should be changed.

  6. Each portfolio should have an associated "share" price based on an arbitrary NAV for each "share" when portfolio is created. Adding or removing cash from portfolio then simply buys/sells portfolio "shares". This means that portfolio performance does not change (charts especially) when you add/remove money. %up/down is based on portfolio "share" price inc/dec from initial NAV at portfolio setup time.

    Just like ETFs measure performance.

This would also means you should add a "performance view" to the portfolio chart for the following:

    YTD
    Since inception
Since any manually input start date and end date.

This was used by the Motley…

  7. Provide the ability to import trade history for a stock into a VectorVest portfolio. Manually entering a long history is difficult. Import trade history from Quicken would be nice.

  8. The Market Timing system is fine - but another feature (VIX) could be added to complement the existing system, For example, some of us would prefer to be out of the market if the VIX > 20; but are prepared to stay in (but add no new positions) if the VIX is < 20 but VIX > 16. That is we might think it ok to be in the market and adding new positiins if the VIX < 16. Adding the ability to complement the existing Market Timing system with programmable VIX thresholds might add value to Vectorvest users.

  9. Have the ability to set the length of time needed if there was a Market Timing Change. For example, yesterday and last week there have been 2 whipsaws of the Primary Wave. It would be nice to set the number of days consecutively needed to confirm the Market Timing change. If it had been 2 days there would have been no whipsaws - would have kept the portfolio long instead of selling and then immediately buying the next day..

  10. Allow us to customize columns so we can add RS, VST, etc... also, it would be nice to be able to add additional columns, such as Stop Price, Distance to Stop Price, Profit Target Price, Distance to Profit Target Price.... and ATR (for us ATR fans out there). Thanks

  11. % G/L Today is not accurate in Portfolios. (ie. Model Portfolio #3) Not universal issue. Random in subscriber / model portfolios. Talk more with Bill Shelton that has witnessed issue.

  12. The current limit of 10 automated portfolios is too low. It should at least exclude:
    The 5 VV Portfolios
Any competition portfolios added by VV

  13. On the Portfolio Graph (Intraday), when you select "Show Change" it should show the change for the day.
It shows the % change and $ change for the Portfolio since inception, same as the EOD Graph.
Would be nice to see Percent Change and Dollar Change for the day.
I have 3 Portfolio Mini-Graphs on my Home Page and would like to see the % Change and $ Change Intraday.

  14. I'd like to see the percentage gain of my portfolio under or by its name on the portfolio list on the left part of the screen.
In this way when I am watching one portfolio, I can quickly see how the other are doing, instead to click on each one of them.

  15. Save my data selection on the portfolio minigraph. Right now I change my graph to EOD to Intraday, then I go to other tabs (ex Viewers). When I come back the graph is back to EOD. It will be nice if the minigrap will stay as I selected.

  16. Sort portfolios by VST descending by default. I am so tired of double clicking the VST column on every portfolio to get them sorted.

  17. In the previous version of VectorVest you could highlight the stocks in your Portfolio(s) and right click to get a shortcut menu. On that shortcut menu you could select "Upcoming Dividend Dates" to get a listing of ex-dividend and dividend payout dates for the stocks in your portfolio.

In VectorVest 7 the "Upcoming Dividend Dates" option is not in the available selections on the shortcut menu - so you have to have and maintain a separate watchlist containing the stocks in your portfolio(s) to get this information because the option IS available in the watchlist shortcut menu but IS NOT…

  19. I run a weekly search but the portfolio only allows daily alerts. In the daily mode, the timing system may request a sell and buy a new stock while in the weekly mode it may hold on the the stock. Right now I cannot use and set up the portfolio and have to rely on running the backup test.
Many thanks for a wonderful system.

  20. Just add the 3/8 EMA as we have been using this for entry/exit in the Derby Club from our positions but when using the market crossings this isn't always indicative of the actual portfolio. This also would mean we could watch a single window where the trades are actually made - RoboTrader
