It would be nice to be able to get the futures prior to market open.
I would like to get the pre-market trading stock activity along with the DJI, S&P500 and NASDAQ.

Add stock symbols used quarterly in backtests
Because the VV data base loses stock symbols due to delisting and buy outs (the survivorship bias), results of backtests sometime cannot be repeated a second time. The user can manually find out
if there are changes in the stocks selected in the second run by examining the Trade History under the Reports tab of the Backtester. This tedious and time consuming when the backtest covers several years. By adding a list of stock symbols used each quarter or less under the Reports tab, the user can quickly compare and follow up on the missing symbols.2 votes -

Vector Vest Express: What it doesn't do?
I signed up for the 5-week trial for Vector Vest, using the Express version on my Mac. Since then I've discovered:
* It doesn't do backtesting. (It seems to lack accessibility to any history.)
* I can't find a way to set up my own search facility, to specify the types of companies I want to consider.I'm wondering what else it doesn't support.

I would like to suggest that the color guard and market timing be updated during the day so we can understand how the market is performing
Update the color guard and market timing guage during the course of the trading day so we have an updated market performance guage rather than how the market has performed 3 hours after the fact

Major Software Changes Needed For Ability To Print Out Portfolio
I recentley attempted to print out a selected portfolio. I found that your software takes over and it HAS NO FEXLABILITY to manage this print out. It has no ability to print just one page out of the print out. It does not allow me the choice of which printer I would like to use to print that I have on line (inkjet vs laser).
You also have to make changes on the ability manage the fields that I display in the portfolio with a save feature.
You also must improve the ability to choose2 votes -

Display Max ROI per position in portfolios
Dr. DiLiddo says never loose more than 1/2 your profit on any position. I use the portfolio tab to log my positions. How about letting me know when I have reached that point by keeping track of the maximum ROI that position has attained so I can compare it with the current ROI. Or The maximum stock price attained to the current price.

BackTest Transaction Log Include Reason for Trade
When I study the transaction log for a backtest, I'm trying to determine why a particular trade was made. It's not always easy to tell, and it takes a lot of study. It would be very helpful if the transaction log would include a column for the reason for the trade with some degree of detail, such as "trailing stop hit at 99.99," or "RT Combo up signal," etc.

Greater Depth in Australian Industry/Sector Coverage – Consider Implementing GICS Classifications for Stocks in Industries/Sectors
Insdustry/Sector coverage in Australia is not as deep as it is in the USA. For example there is no Gold Mining or Metals & Minerals in industry or sector viewer only Materials. Seaches like Stalwarts would benefit from greater Industry/Sector Depth/Coverage.
Please consider taking a feed of GICS classifications for the ASX http://www.asx.com.au/products/gics.htm & http://www.investors.asn.au/education/shares/understanding-shares/asx-sectors/

Display a position number next to the Company name so users can see if the Stock/Company is moving up or down in the viewer's output.
If a stock is in the 15th position on the viewer's stock output page, and a refresh is done, seeing if that stock / Company moves up or down in position would be helpful to those who keep track of a stock's daily or intraday movement. It would be helpful to notice just by having a quick glance...where the stock is moving to...up or down.

Put a note on Forgien dividend stock as to the tax charged by the country involved. This way comparison is possible.
I buy dividend stocks from US and Foreign countries. When comparing these stocks there is no mention of the foreign tax on these dividends therefore making it impossible to compare. Exp. I just received a dividend from BASFY a German Co. and the Dividend was $400.00 and the tax was $105.00 .A pretty hefty tax that would have changed my opinion of the purchase .I think VectorVest could put additional info of these types of stocks, perhaps in the Dividend Yield area indicating the tax ramifications.

Add drop-down calender feature in "Tax Reports" in the Portfolio tab in VV7 to show trades from any specified date.
In Tax Reports in the VV7 Portfolios tab, you can only show trades for "Entire History" or a specific calendar year. In other countries such as Australia, their tax year is July through June so if they had the ability to select their appropriate tax year the report would be beneficial to them. The calendar feature would assist any request from a user.

Use different symbol for Kicker Calls on Graphs
At present VectorVest is using solid triangles (Red and Green) for Green Light buyer, Confirm Up/Down Call and GLB/RT Kicker calls. There is no differentiation between these calls. My suggestion is to use a hollow triangle (thick border) with bullet point inside for GLB/RT Kicker call, and a just a hollow green triangle for Green Light Buyer.

View Multiple Regions Simultaneously
It would be really great to have both Cdn and USA on the same database or at least be able to login on both at the same time so I can monitor both at the same time during the day.
VV7 is just amazing as I get more familiar with it. I am a very conservative risk averse person so after three years I am slowly gaining confidence. Every month has been an adventure and the evolution of the system and the training is making my ability to subsidize my earning more risk efficient. VV7 has made my retirement exciting…2 votes -
