Better even: VV should use the Preferred formats that the user has selected in Windows. This is particularly of interest for date formats! (cfr. Comment from Ron Ingram)

Data formats (including comma separators) should NEVER be hard-coded into an application. VV generally follows Windows Regional Settings on the PC quite well, but I notice the columns Volume & AvgVol do not exactly comply. If they did, my screen would show spaces to separate the thousands, not commas. If it does this correctly, those users who wish to see commas, would simply set their Windows Regional Settings accordingly (this will also affect other applications). That is the only correct way to do this. If VV can't comply with Windows Regional Settings for these fields, they need to consider that many of us DO NOT want commas inserted, hence a parameter should be added to allow users to configure the setting to their preference.

PLEASE PLEASE !!!!!!!!!! Put comma separator in Volume - Average Volume -- Market Cap---trying to read those numbers without the separator is difficult -- In addition Paul McCann said it would be ready by July 2012 -- that's over one year ago

Just to clarify.... How adding commas in VectorVest7 will help to see commas in VV6? Not all your paying customers have the luxury of using VV7. After all the promises made it is still not available for Canada. This is not professional anymore. Come on guys, get real.

Vector Vest has been promising this for how long? At least 6 months (since mid 2010) that I have been asking for it in the Viewers and Unisearch. Commas have been in use in print for hundreds of years. How could such a sophisticated program not use commas? The most recent time I asked for this, the support person at VV speculated that perhaps it has not been done since it would affect the calculations. Really? Clueless. It was further pointed out that there are commas in the individual stock reports. That is the place where one least needs them. They are most needed when looking at a long list of companies.

In the Individual stock reports, which granted I almost never use, they do display commas, but also display decimals, i.e. pennies. In the market values and sales! Do we really need pennies there?

In addition, when displaying numbers such as the market cap, sales, and income, we really don't need the decimals displaying hundreds and tens of thousands of dollars. I think rounding to the nearest million or hundred thousands is sufficient. This is stock screening, not accounting. I don't think such granularity is needed.

Vector Vest is great, but they seem to be tone deaf on this. These are basic concepts of data display.

On 5/21/2010 Citigroup (C) Volume was "1331199439".
Would it be easier to read if it were: "1,331,199,439" ?
I personally prefer to trade an average volume over 700,000 instead of 100,000
