Industry List without ETFs
It would be very helpful to have industry lists without ETFs as it will help in selection of stocks. Currently the industry list includes many ETF groups which may be seperated and a seperate ETF list can be created for those who want to invest in Top performing ETFs. For example currently Biotech ETF group is at the top of industry list instead of that I think it would be best to have biotech industry group at the top. You may adopt some standard definition of industry groups from sources like S&P or Morningstar etc. (IBD's list is a good…

Add 'pain threshold' to backtester options
the pain threshold would allow users to set a threshold for max drawdown. Once their overall portfolio had declined by x% all positions would be closed to prevent extreme losses.

Limit short searches in Derby to stocks which are shortable. Most of them are not.
Most of the short searches I see in VectorVest create lists of stocks to short, and when you go to actually short them, they are not available. Short searches with a minimum size of 100K average volume are likely to generate lots of stock candidates which are too illiquid to short, Let us limit which searches are available to Derby so we can be sure the ones there generate higher volume stocks which are more likely to return lists of stocks which are actually shortable.

Most web browsers allow you to find certain words or parts of words with a 'find' feature. I think this will improve the strategies sections.

Alerts based on dollar figure.
In the Portfolio Automation, it would be nice to be able to set an "Alert", based on a dollar figure rather then a percentage or trailing stop or ratchet stop. I would like to get an alert when stock I owned got to a certain dollar value or price.

Moving Average of Moving Average Crosover
This idea is three fold. One it consists of a Moving Average of a Moving Average that is adjustable. I perfer a 3 day MA of a 6 day MA but longer term MA's can be profitable. The MA of a MA is quite different from a MA of price since it is a trent of the most current price range over x-days vs the trend of a longer term price over x-days. Two - I would also like to see a strategy that would allow the user to filter a search for the MA of a MA search cirtera…

Watchlist Columns
When adding a new stock to the watchlist, the width of the column with the company name changes and does not display all names fully. This can be fixed with AutoFit, but has to be done manually as it changes each time a new stock is added. Can this be saved automatically?

Add Williams %R to VectorVest Fields or allow user to create the it using Custom Field Builder.
Being able to use Williams %R as a parameter in searches can allow you to find stocks that have just broken out and are probably safe to buy. You can also use Williams %R to know when to sell a declining stock. You can use the standard field of 14 ( Wm %R(14) ) but allow the user to modify that number.
