1. Please change "Viewer" to allow sorting (as well as the order, forward or reverse sort) on another column as DEFAULT rather than forcing VST

   Viewer presumes you want the default sort by VST. Please change it so that you can save as DEFAULT a sort by any other column (and either forward or reverse sort saved). As it is, every time you go to a new view, you have to click on the desired column (e.g. Alphabetical to compare with other tools) and then it REVERSE sorts, and you have to click AGAIN to forward sort. Wastes a lot of time for such a simple and obvious feature that should have been there years ago.

2. Allow moving average crosses to be used as a timing event for backtesting or in genius portfolio

   Allow backtesting to use moving average crossovers as a timing tool and also genius to use those MA crossovers to time the market.

3. Have to RESTART VectorVest several times a day due to Memory issues

   I am a Software Engineer and suspect the Graphics code has a memory leak, as I noticed memory used increasing when I open many Graphs. Not sure if code is Java or .Net, or C or some other language, but their appears to be a leak somewhere causing me, jerry and other Jockey Club members to reboot during the day.

4. Protrader search tool: the ability to produce a Weekly MA crossover search

   Please can you provide the facility for us to do Pro Trader searches on Weekly charts. For example I want to produce a list of stocks when the 20 Week MA crosses the 40 Week MA. Frankly I am gobsmacked, having paid $499 for ProTrader that I can't do that

6. Multiple Alerts / Stops / Graph line alerts / Target zones

   Multiple alerts / stops and graph alerts - I love Vector vest but there are a few vital items that I believe are missing, most importantly item 1. in my list below -

   1. It would be lovely to be able to add a line alert function on various instrument graphs so that you can add horizontal lines on the graph to send alert emails for stops and target zones which can be adjusted by the user on the graph rather than changing or adding in the portfolio section or genius. I think this is a fundamental tool.

   2. I think that you should be able to set multiple stops in genius / portfolio section not just one and that technical stops such as resistance levels / cross overs should be added as an option and also a trailing stop that is adjusted based upon the stocks volatility and conform Index rather than a fixed percentage stop. This would enable the stop to tighten if the CI drops etc. You might be able to add a custom stop tool so that user defined formulas can be applied or if your instrument does not meet the criteria in the strategy adopted in genius then a stop is triggered.

   3. You should be able to show and or auto calculate target zones on the graphs based upon various technical indicators such as ABC patterns with the ability to add area on the right of the graph to show same and for extended drawing tools for potential future channels and trends.

   4. It would be nice to have an Aroon Charting indicator.

   5. It would be nice to have a channel drawing tool / rectangle tool on the graphs.

   6. It would be nice to have a user defined ranking tool in the viewers so that you can personally rank each instrument in an individual watchlist.

   7. We also need real time in Australia with Derby and Broker association - I know there is a data cost issue in Australia however not having access to these areas of the platform is frustrating.

   8. It would be great to receive newsletters with proposed upgrades for the platform.

7. Calculate Stop Criteria for Price Column in Portfolio

   Give the ability to customers allowing the top criteria they place against a trade or trades the ability to be shown in a Stop column other than just the stocks VV Stop i.e. a Stop Criteria Stop??

   example
   stock ALR 43.27 VV Stop 40.29

   My stop ATR(14) 1.5x
   stock ALR 43.27 MyStop 41.36 (based upon my selected stop criteria method)

11. Make portfolio cash deposits and withdrawals G/L neutral

    Currently, if you add cash to a portfolio, VectorVest calculates the addition as if your portfolio gained that much through trading, and if you withdraw money from a portfolio, VectorVest calculates that as a loss. Depositing and withdrawing money to or from a trading account are activities that investors do on a regular basis. Such transactions should not affect the G/L%.
    The workaround for this calculating error is to modify the opening deposit. Modifying the opening deposit does reduce the effect of this miscalculation, but it also slightly reduces the G/L percentages since the gains and losses will be calculated against a larger or smaller balance than what was actually in the account at the time.
    Correcting this is a must for anyone who uses portfolios to track an actual portfolio.

12. CREATE A STOP CRITERIA THAT IS BASED ON A PERIOD OF TIME SUCH AS 1-WEEK

    If we were able to use a period of time as a stop criteria for the back tester we could rebalance our portfolio on a weekly or monthly basis with the current top stocks from a search. Any stocks that dropped from the top ten list would be sold and new replacements would be purchased from the current top ten stocks in the search.

14. Add a "tightening stops" function to the backtester.

    Hi. Quite often, when the market is about to head lower, the folks who give the Daily Color Guard presentations talk about tightening up your stops. However, the backtester doesn't allow for this option, other than doing it manually, which would be really tedious for any extended length of backtest. In addition to Buy Long, Sell Short, Go to Cash, or No Action, it would be extremely helpful to have the option of tightening the stops on what's currently in your portfolio. Thanks!

19. Place the "Upcoming Dividend Dates" option back among the Portfolio shortcut menu selections

    In the previous version of VectorVest you could highlight the stocks in your Portfolio(s) and right click to get a shortcut menu. On that shortcut menu you could select "Upcoming Dividend Dates" to get a listing of ex-dividend and dividend payout dates for the stocks in your portfolio.

    In VectorVest 7 the "Upcoming Dividend Dates" option is not in the available selections on the shortcut menu - so you have to have and maintain a separate watchlist containing the stocks in your portfolio(s) to get this information because the option IS available in the watchlist shortcut menu but IS NOT available in the Portfolio shortcut menu - which would be the logical place to have it.

    My suggestion is to place the "Upcoming Dividend Dates" option back among the Portfolio shortcut menu selections, thereby eliminating the need to have and maintain otherwise useless watchlists of your portfolios in order to obtain "ex-dividend" and "dividend payout" date information about stocks already listed in your Portfolios.
