buy-and-hold - we need it to compare with in every backtest!!!!
In every backtest, the built-in-comparison should be against buy-and-hold without all the bells and whistles of using other methods to determine it. Just put it proudly and bluntly on every graph as a record of how all your trading does against buy-and-hold and add a second draw-down for buy-and-hold. This gives a base-line for people to compare with.

should be able to unisearch top 10 or top 20 stocks whose price > value and turn that into a portfolio based on confirmed up/down/glb/pw/etc
If we are saying that undervalued stocks are where to be in a rising market, then unisearch needs the addition of a "top N" and "bottom N"

Side by side display of daily and weekly charts.
right now you can have a side by side comparison of weekly and daily charts by entering stock symbols in each field. Why not have the ability to enter one string of stock symbols and have them appear in the same sequence? Even if you enter the same string in each field today, sometimes the symbols dont display in the same order.

Stop Gain and Stop Loss Optimizer Request
Suggest Backtest be modified to take a given strategy and find optimal stops for it using steps of 1-N% specified by the user on the upside profit stop and trailing stop.. I felt sorry for Todd in his July 6 presentation where he spent all that time doing all the stops manually. All that should be done by the automation regardless of how much time it takes.

survivorship bias
One of the big issues with VV is the survivorship bias in the database. So old failed companies are removed from the database. You only back-trade against existing companies. This can skew results badly.From what I remember it can cut performance to 1/3 in the real world. You’ll be trading companies that will not survive and have yet to fail.

Separate graph for notations/ Trading journal
The ability to post notes and markings on one graph layout without it appearing on all graphs, or at least the ability to toggle the notes on and off. Graphs can get very cluttered at times and it would be very useful to be able to note trading ideas and entry and exits on the corresponding stock graph without it looking (even more) like a road map. I would use it as a quick and easy trading journal as,I think, would many others. I think this would be a winner.

all databases in one interface
I'm using 3 databases: US, UK and EUR. 3 logins and most inconvinient: I have to make all searches 3 times, my watchlists are split over 3 dBases. No general management possible...

Yesterday, the VectorVest software worked on my Galaxy Note 10.1. Today, the software is not supported but the new app is incompatible.
The new software is in the Google Play Store, so exactly which Android devices are supposed to be able to run it?

Have a stop criteria that lets me hold by number of days
Make it possible to back test buy at open and sell on the close of the same day or 1 to x number of days. This seems like it would be easier to code than most of the stop criteria that is available.

Display intraday or end of day when showing portfolio stops.
In the backtester and portfolios there is a checkbox for intraday stops. When this box is not checked, end-of-day stops are used. For the portfolios, when stops are listed would like to see whether intraday or end-of-day stops are used.

Add permanent horizontal line to a graph layout.
It would be good to add a permanent horizontal line to a graph layout and be able to keep it in my layouts. Your consultant said it will disappear with each new stock that is added. This takes too long to keep creating for every stock when they are added as we look for a specific patten.

Portfolio Graph Intraday Change
On the Portfolio Graph (Intraday), when you select "Show Change" it should show the change for the day.
It shows the % change and $ change for the Portfolio since inception, same as the EOD Graph.
Would be nice to see Percent Change and Dollar Change for the day.
I have 3 Portfolio Mini-Graphs on my Home Page and would like to see the % Change and $ Change Intraday.2 votes -

moving average can not reach 250 days. The maximum is 200 now.

Add vertical lines to graphs and especially market timing graph to represent one week's trading (as they do in "Think or Swim". This allows you to see pattern better with respect to how long your trade has been on and how much time is left and how much time has elapsed.

I would like you to add "FANZ" to the ETF data base.
FANZ is a relatively new etf that started in September 2017. I volunteered to give a talk about the structure of this etf at our next user group meeting. The leader asked me if it was in Vector Vest and I said yes. After the meeting I checked and found that it was not part of the database. FANZ s made up of companies that are listed as official partners on one of the 4 major spot leagues in the country. It automatically results in a diversified portfolio of stocks in the etf rather than the typical sector or industry…

earnings guidance
Briefing.com, in addition to posting earnings dates, posts companies that have recently provided POSITIVE or NEGATIVE earnings guidance. In addition to having VV capture the future Earnings date, is it possible to also indicate if the Company has provided either POSITIVE or NEGATIVE guidance in the prior 3 months.
