Make VectorVest independent of Windows, so it can run in any suitable browser in Mac, Linux, ...
VV is the only reason I run Windows and this is massively inconvenient. VV should be re-written to function entirely via HTML5 and dynamic web content (JavaScript), breaking the dependence on Windows and enabling it to run in any suitable web browser on Mac, Linux, Windows.

BackTest based on actual Portfolio holdings
BackTest while using Portfolio inputs. Need capability to use the entered data from portfolio to run tests from different time periods. Meaning if my portfolio was built in 2010 - 2012, I want to test various time period combinations from 2010 to present using actual purchased data, not generic inputs. This keeps my backtest results more accurate based on current asset weighting.

Increase no of watchdog which can be created
Current 5 watchdogs limit is too restrictive, please consider increase number of watchdog that a user can create in VV7.

Quarterly earnings field or column as part of VV7.
I would like quarterly earnings provided as part of VV7. Going back a minimum of two years. Ideally you would be able to see if any company in the data base met analyst earnings quarter by quarter for the last two years. Going back further than two years would be even better. If an effective ranking system could be developed even better.

More Moving Averages for RT
ProTrader provides for searches and backtesting on Moving Averages of 3,10 and 40. However, the Market Timing signal systems use 15 and 20 (US & AU respectively). The difference between 20 and 40 is considerably in terms of trade planning. Can 15 & 20 RT MA's be added to ProTrader please.

Monday Webcast for Swing Traders
I am a VV Real time and Derby subscriber. I am quite often not able to attend the Monday afternoon webcasts for Swing trading. I find that most weeks I do not get my copy sent to me until late Tuesday or even Wednesdays some weeks. I find the information is quite often stale dated by then. Is it possible to get it by Monday evening so we may act on the information the next day?

Please highlight the current graph settings...re: highlight active lower right tabs, and highlight current graph in pull down menu.
Please make it easier to figure out where a user is in the graphing system by highlight active settings. Your classes have taught us to use multiple different graph settings, but some very similar. Yet your system remains opaque and far behind in helping the user identify the current settings and easily take advantage of all the techniques we've learned.

Use Unisearch to create Stop Criteria
Unisearch is a powerful tool but is only used for 1/2 its potential use! When to sell is critcal - allow us to use the unisearch tool to create sell (stop) criteria

time stop
A time-stop is the point in time when you will sell the stock if it does not rise or decline as expected. Adding a time stop as a secondary stop criteria (along with existing stops such as Gain/Loss, ProfitLocker, etc.) would be beneficial in developing trading systems. Genius Alerts - Currently the alert is either close or notify only. I like that we could elect both, close the position, as well as sending the alert.

Show the EPS line as Green when above zero and Red when below zero
The EPS line is difficult to determine when its above or below zero.
There is a tiny negative dash for negative EPS. Be a lot easier if it was Green above zero and Red below.2 votes -
Create a moving average crossover option as a sell criteria. I.E. If price of the stock falls below the 20-day simple moving average, sell
a sell criteria. I.E. If price of the stock falls below the 20-day simple moving average, it would trigger a sell.

And/Or MULTI STOP CRITERIA, Add PSAR (Parabolic Stop and Reverse)
PSAR is the single best SELL signal, slightly better than the popular MACD. Please include as STOP CRITERIA, which must be Boolean Logic AND/OR combinable. VV is great but STOP CRITERIA is the most critical tool and must be improved like UNISEARCH, in fact why not link unisearch itself as stop criteria?
Reallly, we need to improve STOP CRITERIA in the great VV software!6 votes
