Ability in backtest to hold or liquidate portfolio and cease puchasing when a confirmed call changes.
My best backtest strategy does great when confirmed up and terrible when confirmed down. Would like to test whether it is better to sell entire portfolio or hold until stop when a confirmed down is called. As a bonus: The ability to switch strategy with confirmed calls would be nice.

Backtester Stop Functionality
Can we add into Backtester a stop functionality whereby a stop is triggered when a Stock's Price (low, high, open or close as selected by the user) crosses above/below (as selected by the user) a Moving Average (EMA, MA etc as selected by the user please?

Add Chandelier Stops
The Chandelier Stop is a trailing stop that is based on the volatility of the market. It has been successfully used and recommended by a number of traders, including Chuck LeBeau, for trend-following systems. The equations for the Chandelier Stop (CS) indicator recently incorporated into the FT Program are as follows:
If Long: CS=HH-FactorEMA(Range, Length)
If Short: CS=LL+FactorEMA(Range,Length)6 votes -
add ability to take profit on every stop besides just %G/L
%G/L is the only stop which allows taking a profit, why? RT<1 is a great stop, if I have a 50% Gain, I don't want to wait for the RT to go below one to be left with whatever profit may still be available, I want to take the 50% profit. Same applies to every stop in the program, why allow a good profit disappear by waiting to get stopped out? Is the name of the game taking profits or getting stopped out? This of course needs to be added in portfolios and backtest

Portfolio Percent Gain/Loss
Currently the text next to the Portfolio Minigraph displays the % Gain/(Loss) and % Gain/(Loss) Today fields as integer values. Please add one or two decimal precision to display a more accurate value. Example, a gain of .49 displays as 0%, a gain of .52 displays as 1%.

Add "Modified" Calmar Ratio (Total % G/L divided by Max Drawdown) column to the Tote Board.
The Calmar Ratio is an extremely useful statistic in analyzing Risk/Reward in a trading strategy. Why not add a "modified" Calmar Ratio as a column on the Toteboard. It would be a great way to sort strategies and would be very meaningful for many of us in determining good strategies to trade.

New search requested " All time high within last 30 days".
I request a new search " All time high within last 30 days". Currently VV only has "52 week high" and search results contain too many stocks, and too much "noise" and only work "on the day". This new search is designed to be run monthly and pin-point stocks that have been consistently rising in price, are above IPO price and hence have no "disappointed purschasers" to quote the good Doctor.

Add portfolio backup function to Vector Vest.
There is currently no way to backup portfolios. After accidentally erasing my "live" portfolio with a back test, I was surprised to learn there is no way to make a portfolio backup! I was told by VV tech support that VV 7 does not include backup/restore functions.

For VV7 QTests, allow the date to remain constant to compare searches.
In VV7, when doing a Quick Test, any change in the search or going to a new search defaults to the current date. It would be easier to compare searches and/or variations of searches if one could keep the dates constant without having to manually set the desired dates each time.

Options Pro (impressive!): Can you automate the selection process so we are given a few top choices for each type?
The new Options Pro program is impressive! However, the tutorial emphasizes how much skill and experience options entail. To help newcomers such as me in this process, can you tweak the program a bit more so that Unisearch would simply list the top options plays for each kind of trade? For example, on a debit spread, scanning risk-profit graphs and selecting only those with a high slope would eliminate a lot of work. Do this with adjusting expiration dates and different strike prices as well, so an experienced hand is leading the way, and I then would be confident to…

Provide capability to reference past data of indicators to create new ones..ex. RT - RT(-5) to see how much RT has changed over last 5 days
Provide capability to reference past data of indicators to create new ones..ex. RT - RT(-5) to see how much RT has changed over last 5 days. This would enable me to see how fast RT has changed over last 5 days compared to other stocks. I could also do it with VST to see who is changing up or down the fastest...could do it for 10 days view, etc.

CCI (commodity channel index)
I would like to ask for the addition of the CCI (commodity channel index) in the protrader. Strangely enough it exists in the VV6 graph though not in the searches and it does not exist in VV7 at all. Thanks

Portfolio G/L
Would it be possible to reset the G/L % on an annual basis. The G/L % showed on my portfolio is from the first day I started this portfolio. It doesn't show the G/L % as of 12/31/2010
