  1. The * in the ColorGuard when the RTKicker signal occurs is a great idea but it disappears after 10 days because that's all you can see on the homepage. Can you start adding it to the ColorGuard in the views so that when you look back you can see the * signal in the price column.

  3. Percentage PRC and $ change is very confusing. Canadian stock MPH all day yesterday showed green under both headings where, in actual fact, it should have shown red. Opening price was $8 and, for most of the day, it went down from there and finished down 4% where you showed it up 16%

    This confused me until I spoke to Will at your office who explained to me that the comparison is not made from the opening price but from the closing price of the previous day. Glancing at your screen can, therefore, be misleading because one could easily assume,…

  7. My idea is so simple and obvious that it must have been thought of previously and rejected for some reason. I would like to be able to have columns in the watch list containing the stocks I own where I can input my entry price and number of shares and therefore constantly keep a real time watch on how my portfolio is doing. I have to flip back and forth between V.V. and my broker all the time because I have to enter this info in my brokers website.

  9. Stan Weinstein,1988: "Secrets for profiting in bull & bear markets" illustrates his buy points with a Mansfield Chart in which Relative Strength is defined as Price of stock/Price of market average.
    Adding this parameter to Unisearch and graphs would enable a more rapid assessment of stocks.

  10. Alerts on a watchlist;e.g. any stock in the watchlist that crosses its 10 day moving average would send an alert to your phone. Instead of placing alerts on each stock separately, a common criteria could be applied to the watchlist. No one else {to my knowledge} provides this time saving service.

  12. On the Portfolio tab, allow multiple stop criteria to apply concurrently to a given stock. For example, Trailing Stop plus %Gain/Loss. Minimally, this would be for one OR the other. Better would be to support other logical combinations, like AND and OR, with parentheses grouping.

  13. On the list of stocks in the Portfolios tab, flag the symbols where the Stop criteria has been met. In cases where automation is not being used to close the position, this is very important. It saves going back through emails or the Activity Logs.

  16. Portfolio results over a long time period are best displayed using a log scale. This way early results would be just as important as the later results. For a constant percentage increase, there would be a straight line.

  17. Open interest tells you how many people have options on a particular strike price that have NOT been closed. This is critical information when choosing a strike price...if there is little or no OI, it might not be possible to close the option contract in the future. Low OI also leads to very wide bid/ask prices.

  18. ERROR - QuickTest calculates an ARR by multiplying the calculated return R by 365/Days. This can grossly underestimate the ARR for positive returns. With negative returns, VV reports an ARR of less than -100%, which is impossible. The correct formula is:

    ARR= (1+R)^(365/days) - 1

    Example: 3% gain or loss in one week
    VV calculates ARR= 156% and -156%

    Correct values: 365& and -80%

  19. Currently, I have archived portfolio each year and have to create a "new" portfolio for the current year and try to accurately get the "starting capital" number right. By adding a "Current YTD" metric to the portfolio, I can see both cumulative and current gains for my strategy/portfolio.
