stochastic
In Unisearch stochastic Osc the number of days DPeriod should range [1-100] or custom editable. Also it will be good to have filter based on stochastic %D Period and %K Period crossover or Crossunder other than only overbought/oversold.

Build search of underlying (Indexes, ETFs, Stocks) with little price movement to trade calendar spreads and iron condors
Invent a new search to identify the underlying (with optioned indexes, ETFs, or stocks) which have narrow channels or price movements in order to place Calendar Spreads or Iron Condors.

Expand BackTest Sell options by creating a "Sell Criteria" UniSearch
UniSearch allows many options for selecting individual stocks during backtesting. However stop criteria for stocks in the portfolio are much more limited.
So here is the idea. Have a "Buy UniSearch" and a "Sell UniSearch" . For stop criteria in BackTester add one new capability -- stop if stock in the current portfolio meets (or does not meet) "Sell UniSearch criteria.
Your first thought might be of concern for the extra compute power this might take. Perhaps this can be mitigated somewhat by having an implied criteria on Sell UniSearch to filter by stocks in the current portfolio, much as…

Auto Tester Override Stop Criteria for Positions Opened in Different Situation
When using Auto tester, add a new feature called Override Stop (in addition to Buy Long, Cash, No Action). This feature would allow a strategy to override Stop Criteria during that signal phase. For example, if the Up phase Buy Long used a Stop of VST < 1.0, the strategy could change to VST < 1.1 during a Neutral Phase. If the signal phase goes back to Up, the Stops for those positions returns to VST < 1.0.

1. "deleted" Portfolio temporary file for recovery
Put "deleted" portfolios into a temporary "recently deleted" file that can be recovered if necessary.
I lost years of data that may never be replicated because I accidentally hit the delete button. It would be great if i could recover it like a deleted e-mail.1 vote -
tune RS and RV
1) RS measures safety. I would like it to give more emphasis to short term price variablitity. For ex, GIL has pretty variable price, but RS is 1.4. It should be lower because of the price variability.
2) GRT seems to be based on backwards earnings. I would like it to be based on forward earmings. For ex, WCRX shows GRT of 36, but when I use forward earnings estimate from Yahoo, I get GRT of (3.48-3.43)/3.43 or 0

I was hoping that the new Sure Fire portfolio's would be started as of this year. Would it be possible to have them as well?
I would just like to see the portfolio's started as of the new year, this way we would be able to follow and should get closely matching results. I would like to see both the new and the back tested portfolio's. Perhaps a yearly accounting as you do with some of the other portfolio's; close the year out and start a new year, this would help both new users and long term users alike.

Add a New Stop Loss Criteria Alert by % from Purchase Price
Allow a stop loss criteria alert to be set as a percentage from the purchase price; not a previous closing price (or any other 'moving' price) since you have no reference point. This way you can 'see' the decline as it happens and be notified that the loss has crossed that percentage amount. This will avoid having to create multiple portfolios of the same stocks to be notified when a stock is down by 1%, 2%, 3%, etc...from purchase price. This is more accurate than your current stop loss criteria possibilities, in my opinion. Seems like it would be an…

Viewer - Recommandation - How many days
It would be very interesting to have a colomn, just beside the recomandation colomn, in this colomn you should indicate the number of days that this recomandation has been set, example 0:today, 1=1 day ago, and so on... So if I see 5 stocks in my watchlist that are set to "B" and beside I see the number of days, so for me a stock with a brand new "B", ( 0 days or 1 days ) would be more interresting for me to buy, than other stocks that are already in "B" recommandation since several days.

Display changes from Hold (or Sell) to Buy, Buy to Hold, or Buy or Hold to Sell ratings.
This is a key feature that VectorVest could and should implement. Inclusions to these lists would probably be the most valuable feature/service that VectorVest could provide.

Drawing Object Hot Keys
For those of us who like to mark up a chart, it would be really helpful to assign the different drawing objects to a FUNCTION key. This would save a couple of mouse-clicks and having to choose the option from the drop-down menu every time you want to change the drawing object.

Import Personal Portfolio Data
If users were be able to import their transaction history into vector vest portfolios (readily downloadable from most brokerage accounts as a csv or xls file), they could use vector vest tools, data history, graphics, etc. to see how they have done with their actual trades. Manual entry is too laborious for an active trader!
